Healthier M&S Chocolate Button Shortbread Dupe

Happy weekend baking club- for this week we have my homemade take on the M&S chocolate button shortbread! A thick, buttery oat shortbread topped with chocolate buttons, chunks of dark chocolate and that little sprinkle of sugar on top. A little bit healthier from the honey for a natural sweetener and oats for some more fibre! These are sooo good I am literally so excited for you to try these and perfect for a little bit of rainy weekend baking!!!

Fantastic recipe Molly. I regularly make your ‘normal’ shortbread recipe from Instagram and honestly I can’t taste the difference so this is a massive hit! I added a little extra flour (30g) as my mixture was a bit wet and I blended all the oats as I wanted it to be as close to traditional shortbread as poss! Thank you!

I cooked for the full 23 mins, but it did still feel a little uncooked, but not sure if this is the chewy texture of these biscuits. For me it wasn’t the M&S dupe, but the kids enjoyed them, so must have passed their test!

I use MyFitnessPal and create a recipe (for this I found it to be 213 calories, 11g fat, 24g carbs - of which 11g were sugars, 2.8g protein, 24.9mg potassium, but please check these for yourself

Made it gluten free although had to add a little more gluten free flour so it wasn't as wet. Really nice little snack

I mixed milk and white chocolate buttons into the mixture. The outsides didn’t look golden so I left them in 27 mins, that’s an error because they’re a little bit crumbly and dry in the mouth, but still delicious and very easy to make. Thank you

I totally understand that its just a bit weird texture I think. They taste nice though. I prefer the cookies made with chickpeas I think.
